Tune Up and Engine Efficiency

Carry out a thorough check of the electrical connections, starting with the battery leads, going to the coil connections, both LT and HT leads and then the HT leads connected to the sparkplugs.

Check the leads and connections for damage and wear and replace if required.

Check all distributor parts for wear and replace as necessary:

• Dizzy Cap

• Rotor Arm

• Points

• Condenser

Lubricate the distributor

Check, clean and replace if required all sparkplugs

Check the ignition timing

Carry out an engine compression test

Clean the carb float chamber and filter

Check carburettor and manifold flange nuts - these must be neither loose or overtightened

Check carburettor idling and adjust

Once the above checks are completed, start the car and carry out a road test through all gears.

Record any findings for later comparison
